Copper's main terrain park Catalyst, located on the Loverly trail accessed by the American Flyer lift, has everything a rider wants: On the left, a beginner track with mini-kickers and small rails allow riders to learn the basics before moving on to the bigger lines. In the center, medium-sized kickers and jumps enable skiers and riders to improve gradually.  And on the right, giant tabletops, hip features, and an 18-foot Quarter pipe offer potential for as much air as riders can handle.  Halfway through the park, a rail section boasts a variety of flat, kinked and rainbow rails or boxes leading into Copper's award-winning superpipe.  Scattered throughout the park are a number of additional features of varying sizes and degrees of difficulty, all designed for optimum flow.  Click here to see where this park is located on our trail map.

Superpipe

At the end of the Catalyst park riders will find Copper's Superpipe - 430 feet long with 18-foot-high walls set on a 16 degree pitch. The resort a has a New Zaugg Pipe Monster and snowcats dedicated for use in the pipe and terrain parks only, allowing for nightly grooming if needed. Known for its consistent conditions - especially early season - it's simply one of the best-maintained pipes in Colorado.

Park and Etiquette
01. Always Scope Your Landings.
Look at the features first. Take a run through the park and visually inspect all features before hitting them.

02. Know Your Ability. If a feature looks too big, it probably is. Work your way up.

03. Stay Alert. Be aware where you are at all times. Stay clear of all landing areas. Pay attention to information postings in the park. Be aware of changing snow and feature conditions.

PLAYGROUND KIDZ TERRAIN PARK:
Geared for groms that are intimidated or unsure of how their skillz will stack up in the main park, the Kidz Terrain Park offers a training ground just for them.  Mini rails, boxes, jumps and a new mini-pipe to allow them to session at their own pace before getting up the nerve to hang with the big boys.  Located off the top of the Amercian Flyer lift, to the skier/rider's left, above Flyers Restaurant.

NIGHT RIDER:
The day on the hill just became a little longer because of Copper Mountain's new nighttime jib park, known as "Night Riders Jib Park." The park will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays at the base of the American Eagle lift, adjacent to Burning Stones Plaza in The Village at Copper. The jib park will include boxes, rails, and other urban inspired features.  The layout is different each week.  The Jib Park is open to skiers and riders of all ability levels at no charge.

EAGLE JIB PARK:
Located at the top of the American Eagle lift, this park is open on the first day of the season until the Catalyst Terrain Park opens.  There are a multitude of rails and boxes that promote progression in a relaxed environment.  This is the perfect park to start up your season and build some skills to take to the big show.  Solitude Station is adjacent to the park and offers a place to warm up from the cold, get some food, and hang out with your bro's.

FUN FACTS:

  • New for the 04-05 season are three new terrain park zones on High Point Trail under the American Flyer lift.  Link up these three zones with the Kidz Park and Catalyst Park for a top to bottom park run.  Rails, boxes, and snow jibs will be featured in the three new areas.
  • New for the 04-05 season is a Zaugg Pipe Monster that will cut the Super Pipe.
  • There will be more boxes for riders to learn new tricks on or get super stylie with their current repertoire.
  • The parks are groomed every night and the pipes are cut every other.

COPPER PARK INNOVATIONS AND SAFETY MEASURES:

  • The Playground Kidz Terrain Park allows riders to practice and gain confidence before attempting tricks on bigger features.  It's also the ideal place for never-evers to get their first taste of the park.
  • Three distinct lines in the Catalyst Terrain Park give riders the ability to choose the features they are most comfortable with.
  • Copper participates in the Smart Style Program, which helps educate park users in progression and etiquette.
  • Copper Mountain Ski and Ride School offers freestyle lessons in the terrain park.
